Week 4 extra notices

Kia ora e te whānau, we have a few important notices that can’t wait until Friday’s newsletter.

Union meeting – Early School Pick Up

Our teachers need to attend a compulsory union meeting next Monday the 27th of February. If you are able to collect your children early on that day that would be a great help. Children can be collected between 12:30 and 1:00 from their classes and signed out at the office. Children who can not be collected will be supervised at school by Ms Waghorn, Mrs Frecklington and teacher aides. 

Sunshine for the East Coast – Fundraiser day for Cyclone relief
This Friday the 24th of February we will be having a dress-up day to raise funds for Cyclone relief on the East Coast. Many of our staff have strong connections to the coast, as do many of our school whānau. Last week was a really upsetting time for us all watching the devastation unfold. The theme is “Here Comes the Sun” and we will be wearing our brightest, sunniest clothes to show our aroha towards the affected communities. Funds raised will go to Ngati Porou ki Poneke who have been coordinating the amazing local response you may have seen on social media over the weekend. We will also have a small bake/treat sale outside the hall after assembly on Friday afternoon if you want to bring more money for a Friday afternoon treat.

Whaea Bee at Te Matatini

Our lovely Whaea Bee (Room 3) is away at Te Matatini this week with her kapahaka rōpu Te Ahi ā Tahurangi. You might spot them on TV this week! Good luck koutou! 

Cyber Safety Information Evening

On Thursday 9th of March there is a Cyber Safety Evening at Naenae College. This is organised by the Naenae Cluster of schools and will be really useful. A flyer is attached to this notice. If you are planning to attend please reply to this notice for catering purposes.
