Room 1 worked very hard to learn their actions and lines for the production. After they had finished with their performances they wrote about their experiences. Enjoy reading their stories.
I felt happy because the stage was longer and lower. I had to wave my arms and sing ‘What a Wonderful World’. I was amazing being a tree. I had a nest with a bird and eggs in it on my head. My favourite bit was walking onto the stage because I got to walk all the way to the end. I was leader. I would be in another production only if I had to.

I felt really happy because I had my whole entire family here and I was also kind of nervous and I was very happy I was going to talk. I was Papatūānuku and I loved to talk to the audience. I am great because I had to remember lots of lines. I looked beautiful. I want to do a production again because then I can talk. My family said I was great.

I feeled happy because Mum was there and liked it. I said “Put the glasses in the recycling.” I want to do it again because I liked the stage.

I felt good. I was a rainbow. I had to sing and put my dress on. My Mum said I did a really good job. I liked to sing and seeing the audience.

I felt nervous because all the people were in the front of me and I was happy because I said it super loud and not shouting. My parents were super happy and proud. I want to do a production again because I want to make my parents proud. I liked being on stage.

My mum and my dad and my brother came and watched too. I had to sing and perform. I want to do a production again because I liked my Mum and Dad.

I was so happy because I was so proud of myself. I said “I can turn the tap off to save water.” I said it loud. My Mum said she was so proud. She loved me, so happy. I really love to be on stage.

I felt excited because there was so much people. I had to do my lines and sing. My family felt proud of me. I liked the lights. I don’t want to do a production again as there is too much people.

I said “Refuse, reduce, reuse and recycle.” It was good. It was fun. I did singing, ‘Rangi and Papa’ and ‘It’s a Wonderful World.’ The Atua was Papatūānuku.

I felt happy because I loved to go on the stage. I love to sing and I love Papatūānuku. I was the sky. I was waving.

I felt happy because I did my lines. I did a good job. I had to wave and sing. My family were happy. I want to do a production again. I want to sing the song on stage.

It was a bit scary but I started to feel happy because my love heart helped me. I saw my family and they liked me doing it and they clapped. I had to sing and wave my hands. I was amazing and my family said “Hooray, hooray, hooray!” I want to go on the stage again. It was so fun.

I felt scared, excited and brave and I was happy and proud of myself. I was proud because I wanted to say my words slow and loud. My family think I did great. I want to be on stage again. I want to be Papatūānuku.

In liked going on stage. I liked the songs. I was a flower. I want to go on stage again. It was fun.

I liked being on the stage. I loved the people watching. I said, “I don’t need to buy a new toy, I’ve already got one.” I want to do a production again.

I liked singing the songs. I had to sing a rainbow. I was a rose. I want to go on the stage again. I like it.

The production was good. I liked to go to the production because I like the lights, they were flashing around. It was easy saying my lines. I remembered them. My Mum and my sister and everyone that was there saw me. They think I did good. I want to do a production again because it is so good.
